When i sketch your lips <br />I sketch them cruel <br />Hunters weapons, dangerous as any blade <br />Taking down your prey in a deserted glade, <br />Stripping my defences and leaving me gasping. <br /> <br />When i sketch your eyes I sketch them small, <br />Beyond them is a mystery, they're your wall, <br />And I know only what your cruel lips tell, <br />While you know all my treacherous body screams. <br /> <br />But when i sketch your nose, <br />It is lifelike and true. <br />Too large, but fitting, doesn't sneer <br />And i forget your cruel lips and my fear, <br />Forget the wall behind your eyes <br />For staring from the page is a small piece of you.<br /><br />Amy Carmichael<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-sketch-of-love/
