The rain looked down <br />From her throne <br />On stately clouds, <br />'No trees to dance <br />With the breeze <br />In glee when I come <br />Where have they gone? <br />To dance on leaves <br />And kiss the flowers <br />I liked the lively walk <br />Down to their root <br />Back through the leaves <br />To join and be reborn. <br />It was all a joy – Now, <br />Where have they gone? <br />The barren land <br />An orphan mother <br />With no trees <br />Makes me cry <br />The high raise buildings <br />The chimneys of industries <br />Standing tall and eager <br />To make me poisonous <br />In my fall <br />I will bring down <br />Chemicals and smoke <br />As smog to soil the land <br />Should I fall? <br />Among these lands <br />Which have no trees?
