High above: <br />The sheep-cloud being pushed by wind <br />her cotton tail wandering across the sky. <br /> <br />Peering down through <br />the uncontrolled clouds, I see <br />free-born valleys, knolls, and <br />Green foliages decorating the ground. <br />the birch perches on the riverbank, <br />and bluebells dancing in the breeze! <br /> <br />Illusions of Immortal souls strung across the heavens <br />like miles and miles of twinkling stars <br />dancing on the Milky Way <br />signaling forget-not New Orleans' <br />bayous with no mate. <br /> <br />Standing still- it feels- some thirty thousand feet above <br />above fields of cotton, vines creeping on the ground <br />strings of seedy black eyed watermellons, and their <br />juicy sweet hearts bursting with happiness <br />and leaving black seeds for generations <br /> <br />Oh my, how poets images and perception <br />give such delight to a Brooklynite! <br />The huge plane tilts downward, <br />its long nose pushes aside the <br />gray and white clouds then, run <br />to meet the greeting runway. <br /> <br /> <br />Almedia Knight <br /> <br />July 2009<br /><br />Almedia Knight Oliver<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/gazing-through-airplane-s-pane/
