Another storm, and again we are without power <br />Cold, dark and quiet conquer time, hour after hour <br />The fire glows bright, warming my heart <br />Snapping and popping, it plays and dances in art <br />The poor trees, I wonder if they tire in the wind <br />Bending and swaying, back and forth violently without end <br />The ground so wet from the pouring down rain <br />Caught up in this moment, I have forgotten my pain <br />Only for a moment though, as my hurt begins to rise <br />Coming back with feelings, remembering the abuse and lies <br />Deep, intense pain from memories, still in my mind <br />I cannot forget or hide reality, or leave it behind<br /><br />Deborah Cromer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/thunder-23/
