This poem was written by my father Peter Traykoski one week before he died from pancreatic cancer on 17 April 2001 <br /> <br /> <br />The leaves on the trees have changed color <br />Red and yellow leaves are falling to the ground <br />When the green returns <br />I will not be around. <br /> <br />I've died thousand deaths before <br />With every dead solder in the world war <br />I've died with my father and mother <br />I've died a little with my young brother <br />I've died twice with my son, <br />then with sadness in my heart <br />Again my life began <br /> <br />Now it is time to say good by <br />It is time to die the last death, <br />I am not ashamed to admit <br />Few tears i have shed. <br /> <br />Good by life <br />Good by seasons <br />Good by day and night <br />My body has no more might <br />Good by wife, sons and daughter <br />The angel of death has come for my slaughter<br /><br />Milica Franchi De Luri<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-last-autumn/
