Let me take a break,
Under this barren copper colored sky,
Bellow this red hot burning Sun.

Let me close my eyes,
To harsh truths,
And remember lullabies,
From twinkle-nights of childhood.

Let me cool my heels,
Dipping them in the cool waters
Of playful hilly stream,
Still found in youthful dreams.

My senses are probing
Each moment lived to the full,
To find the sweetest nectar,
From the flowers life has bloomed,
Scattered in this divine nature
I am a part of.

I can move ahead,
On thorny roads,
Embers of defeats,
I can look beyond this deserted land;
I can dream of another rain,
Perhaps not tonight,
Some other blessed day.

If the clouds refuse to listen,
I will knock on their snowy gates,

So I move ahead,
To the dreamy, distant clouds,
Crossing numerous voids,
Walking thorough vacuum of dust.
I walk for another rain.

Before every step ahead,
Let me smile back at life.
Let me cool my heels
And walk again

Ankur Shrivastava

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-walk-for-another-rain/
