As they swear at you about you and your deen, <br />As they kick you and hit your head, as it starts to bleed, <br />If you don’t have enough energy to make Du’aa, <br />Just keep saying, “A’oodhu bIllaah.” (I seek refuge in Allaah) . <br />Close your eyes and think of Allah and His reward, <br />Thinking of pleasing Him with sabr, that we can all afford, <br />Think of Jannah, a blessed place to be, <br />No matter how hard you try to imagine, your eyes will not see! <br />Let your tears flow, let them flow, <br />Down, down, onto the ground they must go. <br />Hold onto to your heart, it might hurt a little now, <br />Hold onto your Islam, it mustn’t slip now, <br />Think of Allaah and Jannah’s door, <br />Just this and no more. <br />Once it’s over, as it indeed will be, <br />Or even when the pain begins to ease, <br />Say “Alhamdulillaah” (All praise be to Allah) for a little while, <br />And through your tearful eyes, your tongue will say, “I can still smile.”<br /><br />Rukhsar Ahmed<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-can-still-smile/
