Some of the truly great things about summer, <br />the fresh grass can be smelled for miles. <br />For most of my family the winter's a bummer. <br />It sure has it's share of trials. <br /> <br />I love to get up and rhomp through the dew, <br />seeing the morning glories out in full bloom. <br />Gather some knowledge of life and of truth. <br />It's dark before I return to my room. <br /> <br />To look out at the garden and see with such care, <br />our lunch grow from planting through harvest. <br />The aunts, the uncles, and the family all there, <br />to show me that hard work is best. <br /> <br />From the smells of the food, the grass, and the dew, it's a <br />trip down memory lane that can sure cure the blues.<br /><br />Marcus Nunnally<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/smells-of-summer/
