I have a secret desire of which no one needs to know. <br />This unmentionable want that has me aching so. <br />An unfathomable need for silence, <br />no matter how deffening. <br />A need like no other <br />to be anyone but me. <br /> <br />For I have done the unimaginable <br />in betraying my own blood. <br />I have done the unthinkable, <br />in telling everyone the truth. <br /> <br />But no one knows my pain. <br />I won't tell them what is true. <br />No one needs to know the suffering <br />that everyday I go through. <br />I think it's none of their buisness, <br />for this is some of my only truth. <br /> <br />So I'll hide my pain forever, <br />if that's what I have to do. <br />If I do the impossible <br />and live forever. <br />Still no one will know the truth.<br /><br />Emily Straka<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/can-t-look-myself-in-the-eyes/
