Beleaguered past rued in rushes <br />Hopped to stops at some gushes <br />Sparkled swank vague tomorrows <br />Fertile buds withered to harrows <br /> <br />Torn up bits, blown in vain <br />Engraved as fate, time and again <br />Suffer the pain, a gradual fade <br />yield to downers nature's made <br /> <br />Lives be doomed to a futile end? <br />What the buzz on great men then? <br />No lofty cheers for the run we ran <br />Fade, concede; the best we can? <br /> <br />Make do present in hope to find <br />Fleeting bits to a picture bind <br />Clutching flotsam left behind <br />Sore is the body, numb the mind <br /> <br />Soaring values, driving dreams <br />Weathered now, fuzzy at seams <br />Searching pieces wrenched away <br />Most our lives; don't have a say <br /> <br />Head long leapt in the roiling fray <br />Sunken toiled, at the pew to pray <br />Love's flair Care and truth. <br />Soiled trains and choir's myth <br /> <br />Loved and told, utopian tales. <br />Suffered miseries, driven nails. <br />Sun now shines!
