A SUNDAY FLAVOUR! <br /> <br />Morning, when the day slowly breaks, <br />The sun’s rays begin to penetrate, <br />Through the Gulmohar and Neem trees, <br />Behind my apartment which provides <br />me shade! <br />A cup of tea awakens the drowsy mind, <br />As I skim through the Sunday Times! <br />Last night’s barren dreams are now left <br />behind, <br />With the dents on my pillow they are put <br />to rest! <br />As I try to catch up with my daily quest, <br />Before illusory time goes all waste! <br /> <br />I pen down my thoughts as I begin to <br />to write, <br />The shutters of my window lies opened <br />wide, <br />I had partially drawn the curtain blinds! <br />And after mid-day the sun begins to tilt, <br />To the west where it shall slowly sink! <br />What an illusion this sun brings! <br />Since it is I who rotate with the earth, <br />The sun stood stationary from its birth! <br />Copernicus had long cleared my mental <br />illusion, <br />Why must I suffer from further delusion? ! <br /> <br />And as the day gradually comes to an end, <br />I too get closer to my journey’s end! <br />Tasting a slice of illusory time, <br />Let this flavor forever remain in my mind! <br /> -Raj Nandy <br /> 11 Oct 09 <br /> Sunday.<br /><br />RAJ NANDY<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-sunday-flavour/
