on the eve of children’s festival, numaligarh 23rd oct.2009 <br /> <br />the child in you <br /> <br />today, I can see only children <br />the child in you <br />and <br />the child in me <br />playing freely <br />music of innocence scattered in the landscape of life <br />Here <br />On this beautiful earth <br />shattered earth awaken by <br />rhymes and lullabies <br />children of numaligarh <br />children of this beautiful world <br />you let me feel free from these shackles of textured living <br />you let me feel free from these faces of fractured feelings <br />you let me feel attained- humanness little by little-like you learn to walk <br />little by little <br />in the celebrated innocence of these little children <br />the birds butterflies and fireflies glowing and flying freely <br />today <br />I have learnt a little to walk more, tomorrow I shall be running again <br />as if again and again and again <br />every particles are exploding into newness of this newborness <br />rediscovering my lost self <br />I saw myself smiling <br />I saw myself walking in the garden greener <br />In the smile of these beautiful children <br />Who can write freedom in the wind <br />And Stories of no hunger no war <br />Who sing twinkle, twinkle little star <br />No hunger, no war <br />Who can dream and put that endless skies in color <br />Colors of endless joyfulness <br />Past and present flowing <br />Continuously into vastness <br />Forces of future <br />Let me pronounce <br />All of you as the Best <br />All of you as the winner <br />For today <br />Tomorrow and forever <br />thence <br />why cannot we be today <br />for that million moments <br />be like these children <br />and the child in you and me <br />smiling, laughing and smiling and smiling<br /><br />lovita j r morang<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/children-of-numaligarh/
