The alarm bell rings <br />and tells of a new morning; <br />but tells not what it brings…. <br />Will it be as we think, <br />as we plan in the mind? <br />Can we really plan out <br />just what we will find? <br />The covers’ the same <br />as the morning before, <br />will we take with us those covers <br />as we walk out of the door? <br /> <br />The alarm bell rings <br />and tells of a new morning; <br />but tells not what it brings…. <br />Will the coffee taste stale <br />or shine as we stir, <br />with a flavor that’s new <br />as never tasted before? <br />The walk to the station, <br />the same path to be sure, <br />but only the same <br />if it’s yesterdays thoughts <br />that walk in the rain. <br /> <br />The alarm bell rings <br />and tells of a new morning; <br />but tells not what it brings…. <br />The sun has arisen <br />just as before <br />and the clock is still ticking…. <br />And between each click <br />of the sound of the clock <br />that second hand stops….<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/morning-alarm/
