Focus strong, mind a thin line, think of <br />my documents all the time, not allowing <br />thoughts to run away, no feelings disturb <br />the surface of my life <br /> <br />Watching Strictly Come Dancing, my mind <br />creates a separate self who floats around <br />the house, eyes shining, feet twirling, but <br />I do not enter this new person <br /> <br />I stay aloof, watch her from the outside, not <br />entering these fantasies, I do not identify with <br />the face in the mirror, a dream-girl glowing <br />with joy and life - I remain <br /> <br />Entombed in my role of assembly-line employee <br />tightening my lips while the dream-girl dances <br />to the waltzes playing over the radio <br />enjoying herself <br /> <br />Without breaking my concentration on official texts <br />to be read tomorrow, all the other personalities <br />have as much fun as they like without me <br />losing control of my primary role <br /> <br />Typing official documents in the office, my soul is <br />content, allowing me to keep my focus strong <br />mind concentrated like a laser beam on my <br />work all the time<br /><br />Margaret Alice<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/mind-laser-26-10-2009/
