I heard children crying, I heard children weeping. <br />I heard their silent voices screaming of hunger and pain, <br />where no ears can lend and hear what they say. <br /> <br />I saw them lying on streets under the trees. <br />I saw them playing to and fro from the streets, <br />begging for money to fufill their needs. <br /> <br />I saw a little boy crying, telling to his brother <br />“He’s hungry and wants to eat”. <br />Yet the poor brother has nothing still to give. <br /> <br />This is just a story of one poor child who suffers from hunger <br />and nowhere to hide under the rain drops and pale moonlight. <br />How many more children who bear this scene? <br />How many eyes who sees and doing something? <br />How many ears that tried to listen <br />and took the challenge to stop their grievances. <br />Are we blind and deaf to share their pleas? <br />Are we just going to stand as if they don’t exist? <br /> <br />Oh please we should do something to alleviate this poverty! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />27th of October,2009<br /><br />Catrina Heart<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/silent-voices-3/
