Why do you torment me? <br />Why do we have to die? <br />Sin is our nature, but why is this so <br />We are like a vapor here today gone tomorrow <br /> <br />You died on the cross, <br />And paid the full cost <br />So why do you put me to the test, <br />Why don’t you put vile sin to rest? <br /> <br />Free me from this body and mind, <br />Love and care for me, <br />Oh Lord God divine. <br />If I am your child, <br /> <br />Father you see me and all that I do. <br />Lord God I just want to know you, <br />To be excepted and invited, <br />Into your mighty kingdom. <br /> <br />You walked your son to the slaughter, <br />Like a lamb some would say. <br />Why did you do it? <br />If you knew I would still sin. <br /> <br />Nails in his hands, <br />Thorns on his brow, <br />Scars on his side, <br />Death is the plan. <br /> <br />Why did he die, <br />To save simple men, <br />Such as me. <br />To be crucified on two planks of a tree. <br /> <br />The answer that I seek, <br />Is found with inside me. <br />His Spirit given me new life, <br />And made my body sanctified. <br /> <br />Now I pray to you my Lord. <br />To love and serve and honor you, <br />In every life and thing you do. <br />To take their hand, <br />And led them to your Promise Land. <br /> <br />In Christ the King and Son of Man’s will, <br />I shall and will pray, <br />Amen.<br /><br />Peter Vector<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/god-s-will-6/
