Bureaucrats everywhere are a special fraternity <br />Who manage to make the possible impossible <br />And then take pride in this achievement <br />They ought really to be eliminated permanently <br />From every self respecting country <br />Especially one raring to go ahead <br />Ours is a nation of hungry young tigers <br />Waiting to be unleashed to show <br />Their power and prowess in every domain <br />Instead of which they find themselves <br />Permanently in shackles thanks to the famed <br />Bureaucratic browbeating – these revered gentlemen <br />Are feared by one and all including the Ministries <br />To which they actually belong and for whom they work <br />These august individuals never miss an opportunity <br />To get their pound of flesh when the going is good <br />Exceptionally, they could settle for half a pound <br />In these days of recession and tough times <br />Any offer of less, would be considered an insult <br />To their sense of self importance and propriety <br />Exercising caution when dealing with them <br />Is quite obviously the only way to play their game <br />Challenging them would be absolutely insane <br />We may carp all we want on this painful issue <br />But the fact of the matter is that they are here to stay<br /><br />Sandra Martyres<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/bureaucrats-5/
