The melting winds of tomorrow <br />are dissolving my dreams today. <br />The aspirations that I reached for <br />are crumbling in my hand. <br />Soon there will be purple nothingness <br />where my dreams used to be. <br />The more I try to grasp them <br />the more the images waste away. <br />Soon I’ll have nothing inside the silken purse <br />just vacant ashes where my dreams used to be. <br />How could this happen? <br />How could my world go this wrong? <br />What made the melting winds of tomorrow <br />want to take all this away from me? <br />Maybe when tomorrow comes <br />it will tell me the answers I seek. <br />Until then I’ll have to wait <br />while the melting winds of tomorrow <br />finally close my day today.<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/melting-winds/
