Later, the day transformed <br />Into barren core of <br />A pillaged bloom, <br />Its luminous petals <br />Ravaged during my wait. <br /> <br />I pledged to silence, <br />When the evening <br />Breathed its last, <br />And the pyre was lit <br />In the mellowing west. <br /> <br />My desire abandoned <br />The artless sky, and joined <br />The fading crimson streak <br />To seek ethereal refuge, <br />Sans reincarnation. <br /> <br />The flower I chose for you <br />Had asked for one touch <br />One everlasting touch... <br />Before following the evening <br />Into night’s pearly gates. <br /> <br />Only to get pinned up <br />Forever, on its morose wall <br />Among the hoard of <br />Many aimless stars, <br />Deprived of recognition. <br /> <br />Later, night unwrapped <br />Its celestial cover <br />And flipped the dog-eared <br />Pages of prosaic book, <br />That I left wantonly unread....and returned! ! ! !<br /><br />Seema Aarella<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sojourn-here/
