I remember the days when I was infatuated with love... <br />When love was like clothes, some worn weekly- undies, overalls - <br />Some on special occasions, like weddings and funerals <br />and others only window-shopped but never worn. <br /> <br />I remember those days, and I'm glad they are gone <br />I love waking to loving you every single morn. <br />You're not like clothes, but much more like lotion <br />And not because I desire to have you rubbed on me <br />Jump in you and swim in you like you were a sea <br />Of petals and perfumes ever so sweet and mild <br />not because you make me a beguiled child, <br />But because without you I become dry, damaged, cracked <br />and that's just my lips, the worst fate is seen by my heart, <br />It recedes in time and becomes a vein, <br />that sits and wonders when you'd be home again <br />barely pulsing... barely pulsing... only longing in pain <br />And that's at nine a.m., before the heat of the morning sun, <br />By ten, through your photos and voice mails i'm going; <br />squirting and rubbing to satisfy me... <br />Even though I know you'd be back by evening fall <br />in refreshing shower that covers my all... <br /> <br />To be my best I need you today, tomorrow, <br />Saturday, Sunday... every lover-day <br />To clothe me, to sooth me, I need you... all over me; <br />and never are you old fashion or over worn. <br /> <br />Copyright © 2011 Leslie Alexis<br /><br />Leslie Alexis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/love-like-lotion/
