In my make believe life <br />I fall in love with everyone I meet, <br />even with strangers <br />my heart falls at their feet. <br />I am happy with my life <br />though it is only make believe <br />for within it only love is all I know. <br />It reverses things I have been through, <br />the sadness and the pain; <br />the lonely adolescent years <br />now become filled with love and friends <br />where in reality I had neither of them. <br />I journey through the world <br />with my head held high, <br />where there are no limits <br />to how high I can fly. <br />My, make believe life is the best, <br />one could ever get, <br />always filled with sunshine and smiles <br />and love from hearts of gold. <br />Imaginary it might be, <br />but if you can tell me a better one, <br />I might give it a try. <br /> <br /> <br />9 December 2009<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/make-believe-life/
