As the sun goes down <br />it burns the same <br />as it did in the sky <br />even if we cant see it <br />its still burning <br />simply burning <br />like the deepest blood in my heart <br />it burns for her <br />as she kissed me that one last time <br />i saw the end was near <br />my choices caused me <br />to fall apart <br />she finally left me <br />walking away <br />with her eyes so dry <br />like my words so dry <br />as i tried to call her name <br />but my chords told my mind <br />that calling was no use <br />so i turned away cold that night <br />like burning ice <br />never the same again <br />but i think of it now and then <br />realizing that my fires dimming down <br />with little left to burn<br /><br />Mike Conkey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/burning-blue/
