Tremors, Shakes, and loss of life. <br />My heart goes out to the people of Haiti, <br />My silent prayers, to the Almighty, <br />To give them strength and comfort in this time of strife. <br />Devastated by hurricanes; they inhabitants would rebuild their land. <br />But this is different, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake, <br />The landscape the earthquake would shake, <br />Many countries are lending a helping hand. <br />China, France, Iceland and of course The United States, <br />I don't see Chavez, or Yemen, or the Taliban or Al-Qada come to Haiti's aid. <br />What is it that they are afraid? <br />I don't see the banks on Wall Street coming the Haitian aid; and I guess someone dictates, <br />How the money would be spent; that is in bonuses. <br />I don't see the elite socialist-actors coming to the aid of the Haitians, <br />Nor the multi-million dollar sports figures that play football/ basketball <br />- there is an economic separation. <br />Or Tiger Woods as he once supported his many mistresses. <br />Tremors, Shakes and loss of life. <br />This earthquake will cause many a death. <br />Papa Doc, the political corruption, the many years of political instability, <br />Has caused Haiti, <br />To gasp a breath. <br />Maybe this event will change the country some how. <br />Maybe, foreign investment, other than France, will come to Port-au-Prince, <br />Maybe Donald Trump will build Towers, maybe the MGM Grand will open a Casino <br />Since, <br />Most Island nations, in the Caribbean, offer gaming now. <br />But I pray that survivors of the devastating calamity would persevere, <br />And I pray for your family and friends, Yolande, whom that you love so dear. <br /> <br />1-14-10<br /><br />Joe Rosochacki<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/haiti-5/
