Are you even interested in my poetry? <br />No matter how silly the words may not seem at times to rhyme, <br />Are you getting the meanings placed in each? <br />Or are you just killing a bit of idle time. <br /> <br />I do not profess to be like “Poe, ” <br />Or even one…in the least of these, <br />But the messages placed in each poem I write, <br />May sometimes really not be meant to poetically please. <br /> <br />They are meant to open up your mind, <br />To maybe a deeper more profound point of view, <br />They might take you sometimes to a place, <br />Where none other has ever been allowed or knew. <br /> <br />I might sometimes speak of the God I know, <br />Then sometimes wander off into a, “La, La land”, <br />Wherever my words might take its reader, <br />In hope that when reading they’ll come to understand. <br /> <br />By: Linda Winchell<br /><br />Linda Winchell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/are-you-getting-the-message/
