When love leaves...where does it go? <br />When does one notice...love, is leaving? <br />Love, never leaves all at once. It leaves <br />slowly...ever so slowly. Noticed, but denied and <br />quietly leaves...almost imperceptibly. <br /> <br />Those in love, for the most part, are aware, <br />that their love, like dimming embers, is slowly, <br />beginning to fade. One day, seemingly without <br />warning, ones deepest fear is realized. Love, has <br />left you, alone and empty. <br /> <br />Now, a solitary figure, in the cold and indifferent, <br />blackness of night. Struggling, to find the last <br />memories, of love filled days. <br />Like the rush of spring waters, deep in the mountains, <br />after a winters season...memories of love...flood your mind. <br /> <br />I knew you were leaving...before you left. You were <br />letting me go...a minute...an hour...a day at a time. <br />You told me, not in words, but in the withdrawal, <br />of all which bonded, two, as one. Our time together, <br />no longer, a time of love and caring, <br />but moments of uncomfortable silence <br />and trite conversation. <br /> <br />The wet hungry kisses, replaced, by a peck on the cheek. <br />The many nights, lying side by side, in muted silence, <br />both pretending sleep. Slowly, you withdrew from our <br />world, into a world I knew nothing about. <br />We were two, on the sea of life, in separate <br />boats...slowly drifting apart. <br /> <br />Yes, I knew you were going...before you left.
