If you were <br />to witness this <br /> <br />Capri would be <br />eclipsed <br /> <br />by two silhouetted <br />heads <br /> <br />coming together <br />in a kiss <br /> <br />between oleander trees <br /> <br />the moon <br />riding over <br /> <br />the top of the town <br />of Positano <br /> <br />would have <br />stopped <br /> <br />in its tracks <br />as would the waves <br /> <br />crenulated into crests <br />without their crashing <br /> <br />all held <br />in suspense <br /> <br />stars in their twinkle <br />blink <br /> <br />as time stops <br />in amazement <br /> <br />but the lovers <br />unglue <br />(as it were) <br /> <br />their lips parting <br />in laughter <br /> <br />that brings Time <br />to its senses <br /> <br />making Capri re-appear <br />waves waking form a daze <br /> <br />kissing again & again <br />the shocked shore <br /> <br />and a moon <br />(awakened from its dream) <br /> <br />of two ordinary <br />human beings <br /> <br />topple from its perch <br />on the tip of the town <br /> <br />spilling itself in silver <br />across a sigh of sea <br /> <br />& stars <br />can do nothing <br /> <br />...but smile.<br /><br />Dónall Dempsey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sognare-ad-occhi-a-perti-dream-with-the-eyes-open/
