I came to Ireland for a pint or two,
I found fields of eternal green blanketed with dew.
My journey took me over rivers and thru castles on high.
The Cliffs of Mohr took my breath away and were pleasing to the eye.
I longed for the ocean waters upon my bare feet.
The Atlantic washed over me, cool and complete
My body aches from a week of merriment with my new friends.
My heart breaks knowing my time in Ireland is about to end.
Now the skies over Ireland have opened up, tears fall like rain.
Maybe she will miss me too, as I board my plane.

Teresa Bacon

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/leaving-ireland/
