A salty mist swirls around us, <br />Landing on our skin, <br />And tangling in our hair <br />As we sit on the golden sand, <br />And listen: <br /> <br />Listen to the seagulls’ music soaring through the air, <br />Listen to the night’s magic always drawing near, <br />Listen to the calm water lapping at the shore, <br />Listen to the enchanted breeze always trying to lure. <br /> <br />But then all of the sudden, the seagulls’ cries are gone, <br />The gentle breeze has turned to gusts, <br />And rain starts spattering down. <br /> <br />The peaceful waves have turned with deadly passion, <br />Into monsters meant to consume, <br />As the rain drenches our windblown hair, <br />And penetrates our heated skin, making it cool. <br /> <br />How wonderful it feels, <br />To be washed by this innocent rain, <br />As lightening dances overhead- <br />Flashes of power, brilliance, beauty; <br />Something nothing in this world can contain, <br />And the thunder rocks through the heavens, <br />Making the ground vibrate, <br />Making it sing. <br /> <br />Our eyes meet, and I can’t help laughing, <br />Such joy and wonder it brings, <br />To share this fantastical moment with you, <br />I hope it teaches you to love the rain.<br /><br />angel lockheart<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/rain-391/
