KICKING
a poem for pregnancy #1

Some call it displacement manifestations,
As if I hadn’t had my rations
And know it’s no small game.
We give this name,
And hope it puts perspective in our actions.

But if you only knew
What corners dismally reveal,
Messing my well-swept mind.

The leakage bubbles
Within a dutied heart
And gushes from my eyes.
Then all the rubble
Hidden in the ordered home
Makes lies.

You find
Another name, because you can’t contain
Irrationality. You are my cracking walls.
And so you call emotions
“labile whilst in pregnancy” and
Leave the house with judging eyes,
with heavy heart.

Mood….
Move. I won’t and never shall
Admit defeat. My love
Is territory to my home, foundations and my keep.

Linda Hepner

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/kicking-a-poem-for-pregnancy-1/
