I was compelled back to the cul de sac-
Located in Marine View hills-
Back to your early happy childhood...
Memories of those days are with me still;

Unable to let go of your growing days...
You were absolutely my sheer joy-
The reason for me to go on living-
You-my most blessed sweet boy;

God gave me such a Golden Gift...
Pregnant for nine months of delight-
Watching my tummy grow and loving you so-
You were my future-most bright;

To say that my World revolved 'round you-
Would, indeed, be absolutely true-
You were my reason for being...
A precious Gift Of God-that is you;

Now you are more than just a grown man-
You are married and seldom seen by me-
To say that i miss your sweet smile is an understatement...
Last i saw you-seems an eternity;

Such a vast and huge difference...
Then when you were growing and kicking inside of me-
Or in the cul de sac bike riding...
Sweet memories are now all i see;

Dedicated to the greatest gift of all from God: My Son

Theodora (Theo) Onken

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/son-19/
