The night 'tis long and forboding... <br />Its blackness blankets my mind- <br />Weakness surmounts as sorrows accounts... <br />For the bleak questions and answers i find; <br /> <br />Dizzying night swirls into the throb- <br />That 'tis pulsating inside of my head- <br />While the candle in my soul 'tis dimming out low... <br />And i wonder if i am nearly dead; <br /> <br />Illness 'tis but a dis-ease... <br />An unease of all once working parts... <br />Eaten alive by super cells that survive... <br />While tearing to pieces my fragile heart; <br /> <br />If tomorrow never comes for me... <br />If i am swallowed up by a malignant night... <br />And all evils of the day have come my way- <br />Let it be known-that i didn't leave without a fight;<br /><br />Theodora (Theo) Onken<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/if-tomorrow-never-comes-8/
