T'was quite quaint you see- <br />The way the Sun warmed the trees- <br />Which had chattered endlessly- <br />From an unforgiving Northern freeze; <br /> <br />All of the warm and cozy... <br />Gave way to a most joyous Dawn... <br />Why even the Garden embraced the Sun- <br />And the blades of grass grew green upon the lawn; <br /> <br />The Tulips began to rise through the sod... <br />Along with the Daffodils and their Yellow blaze- <br />All embracing the longed for warmth... <br />Of the Sunshines new Spring days; <br /> <br />T'was quite quaint really, you see- <br />The way the Sun warmed the trees... <br />Which had chattered almost endlessly- <br />Throughout the Winters most unforgiving freeze; <br /> <br />Written for: Earth Day-April 22,2010<br /><br />Theodora (Theo) Onken<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/springup/
