My heart goes out to single mothers <br />moreso that to the others <br />because their days are so long <br />Their daily lives so thankless <br />Their perseverance so strong <br />Living with the lover, lost <br />Knowing full well love's true cost <br />Motherhood is sometimes so hard <br />Children dictate mothers very lives <br />For them they sacrifice a lot <br />And have nobody else to share with <br />the little that they've got <br />Sometimes without a helper or a friend <br />The weight of motherhood has no end <br />And eventually children grow <br />and are bound to go away <br />You only hope that they don't stray <br />While your own heart is slow to mend <br />And maybe on Mothers day one year <br />Some thanks or greeting they will send <br />Most married women think they have it hard <br />But single mothers know the score <br />That single mothers have a harder chore <br />And so to you I wish you all <br />Rest before tomorrow's endless call <br />A Happy Mother's Day all the more<br /><br />JAMES T.
