Once, <br />the Sun flower fell in love <br />with a glowworm. <br /> <br />The tiny fly flew slowly <br />spreading tiny light <br />In the darkness. <br /> <br />The sunflower, even when <br /> it adored the sun <br />kept in her heart <br />a love that is pure <br />for the glowworm of the night. <br /> <br />In the darkness when the sun <br />went beyond the horizon, <br />she remained <br />dreaming of the glow worm <br />and hoped that the tiny little firefly <br />will come and land <br />on the soft petals of the sunflower oneday. <br /> <br />She chanted a noble song <br />sang blessed melodies. <br />The fire of the heart <br />of the sunflower <br />burned in the silence of the night. <br /> <br />The sunflower danced in the night <br />Imagining the beauty of the glowworm. <br /> <br />One night, as the sunflower slept <br />Indeed came the glowworm, <br />landed on the soft petals <br />of the sleeping sunflower <br />Emitting always light. <br /> <br />The tiny glow worm slept <br />on the soft petals <br />of the sunflower <br />that night. <br />Even in sleep <br />Glowworm gave the sun flower, its light <br />Free of cost, out of sheer joy. <br /> <br />And the Gods above <br />Saw it and smiled. <br />The angels sang, <br />The saints played on their harps.<br /><br />Dr. Antony Theodore<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-sunflower-loved-a-glowworm/
