at one moment <br />i know what togetherness is <br />in an embrace <br />at night <br />recoiling and coiling <br />and curling <br />two bodies fusing as one <br />lovely <br /> <br />time has a way to <br />separate entwined beings <br />when things begin <br />to appear hazy <br />to the eye <br /> <br />you wake up <br />finding it hard to spell such <br />a simple word <br /> <br />as togetherness <br />it is there at the tip of your tongue <br />yet you cannot utter <br />even a single letter <br />you find yourself so alone <br />like a star that has <br />not faded with the others <br />at noontime <br /> <br />it is hot in that place like an over <br />making bread black <br />and not fit for human consumption <br /> <br />you stand by the door <br />look at the people passing by <br />guessing each name <br />the faces are sad <br />very much like yours.<br /><br />RIC S.
