When i was a little girl <br />my father said to me <br />'look to the sky, let him know, <br />the person you want to be.' <br /> <br />I said 'daddy i do! I know right now! ' <br />'I want to be like you! ' <br />and not a million dollars, <br />could change that point of view <br /> <br />He smiled to me and let me know <br />it would take some time <br />to be like him was always one, <br />really big goal of mine! <br /> <br />A few years later it changed a bit <br />i was not a little girl <br />my point of view was still the same <br />i still loved him, he was my world! <br /> <br />'i guess she just grew up a bit' <br />i heard him say on the phone <br />'yeah its hard to see her grow! ' <br />his eyes drooped real low <br /> <br />a frow then came upon his face <br />i wasnt just the same <br />nothing could erase this time <br />my daddy, aint the happiest in the game <br /> <br />Many years then passed me by <br />i never wouldhave guessed <br />when the phone rang i said 'hello' <br />but a sobbing mother, said it back, depressed! <br /> <br />i asked 'whats wrong' <br />she spilt it out, my daddys past on <br />at that point all the memories <br />i realized were gone! <br /> <br />fourteen weeks i spent crying <br />not letting anyone know <br />im sure they couuld all tell though, <br />i just wasnt who i had shown... <br /> <br />untill this day i live my dream <br />im just like he was then <br />i go to his grave and have a chat <br />he was never really gone, in the end!<br /><br />shelby eck<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/never-gone-4/
