The little boy a waiting <br />Looks up and turns around <br />I see tears of diamond falling <br />From his eyes down to the ground <br /> <br />And there stands a young woman <br />And shes forever on the run <br />Shes forever is regretting <br />Everything shes ever done <br /> <br />The man down the alley <br />with out a soul to speak <br />hes moving in slow motion <br />with no shoes on his feet <br /> <br />theres a pregnant lady prowling <br />without a husband in sight <br />shes out here all alone <br />in the middle of the night <br /> <br />there’s a gang of teens struttin’ <br />hiding things beneath the clothes <br />they are looking for a victim <br />so notorious they’ll grow <br /> <br />theres a builder and a baker <br />watching the morning news <br />they have to work a job they hate <br />the one they even got to choose <br /> <br />and the school boy hes a wondering <br />about what his daddy said <br />“how can I be better than the rest” <br />Is what the poor boy said <br /> <br />The junkie in the park <br />Is looking for a fix <br />If he cant find what he wants <br />He’ll find another deadly mix <br /> <br />And the old man with his paper <br />Looks up and breaths a sigh <br />Because hes knows its nearing <br />The day that he will die <br /> <br />And every person in the street <br />Has a struggle in their life <br />And everyone will have to walk <br />Along the sharp edge of the knife.<br /><br />Tim David Cook<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-struggles-of-life/
