The sun shines from above <br />As the wind teases the leaves <br />Urging them to dance. <br />As they gently sway <br />A Rosella returns to its nest <br /> <br />The flowers that had lain dormant <br />Now awaken, reaching upwards <br />Drawing strength from the sun <br />Its buds open unfurling <br />To become the a perfect bloom <br /> <br />There is a feeling in the air <br />Of anticipation, exhilaration. <br />Smiles on the faces of strangers <br />The days are longer <br />And the evenings more inviting. <br /> <br />Walking through the park <br />A blaze of colour captures the eyes. <br />Such tranquility in their beauty. <br />The scent of the rose is released to the air <br />There to linger invitingly. <br /> <br />A heart that was once shadowed. <br />Now touched by the warmth of the sun <br />Finds joy in the picture before it. <br />Opens up to a new beginning. <br />This is the onset of spring.<br /><br />Resty Rivera( PHILIPPINES)<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-onset-of-spring/
