We want people to behave, <br />be courteous, humble and suave. <br />When it comes to us, <br />we are proud, complaining, irritated, <br />and always with a sullen face. <br /> <br />We want people to be cooperative, <br />obedient, helping, and proactive. <br />When it comes to us, <br />we’re so selfish, thinking only of the self, <br />and unmindful we never care to help. <br /> <br />We want people to love beyond skies, <br />and look through others’ eyes, <br />When it comes to us, <br />we want to heedlessly lead, not serve, <br />blaming others for all the fuss. <br /> <br />We want people to be honest, upright. <br />Can we tolerate in it a variance slight? <br />When it comes to us, <br />we are over-smart, manipulative, cunning; <br />others are watching, it doesn’t ring. <br /> <br />There are two standards: <br />one for ourselves and one for others, <br />though hardly ever we agree, <br />we stick to our guns and rather <br />help them to continue further. <br /> <br />What we do for others, <br />the others will do for us. <br />This is a very simple equation: <br />can’t we understand? <br />“‘I’m too smart”; yet we always think; <br />our acting as dumb, however, doesn’t sink. <br /> <br /> <br />But for a change, <br />On a scale of 10, you yourself rate, <br />On the basis of what you want to give, and get; <br />and be what you want others to be- <br />and a great breakthrough in life <br />you will undoubtedly see! <br />You will never regret I bet; <br />this is undeniably a powerful fact. <br /> <br />@Copyright reserved by the author<br /><br />Amrit Rathi<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-want-4/
