My computer closes documents without saving <br />generally behaving like a naughty three-year-old <br />until I report the problem to IT, as soon as email <br />confirmation is received the experts are on their <br />way, the problem ceases, making me look like <br />an overzealous fool <br /> <br />Maybe one of Colin Wilson’s carefully delineated <br />Poltergeists got hold of my computer’s soul and <br />is now messing with me, using the energy of my <br />dissatisfaction with my poor performance to carry <br />out its tricks – whatever it is, machinery mal- <br />functions whenever I appear <br /> <br />The screen of my notebook stopped functioning, <br />modern-day life is full of unlimited opportunity for <br />all kinds of spirits from the dungeon dimensions <br />to play tricks on silly people like me who have <br />not learnt to regard life with the cynical eye <br />of a Douglas Adams <br /> <br />I shall reread the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the <br />Galaxy to familiarise myself with the pitfalls <br />of false hope and trust, maybe then I shall <br />be able to take problems in my stride and <br />laugh at adversity, especially the illogical <br />behaviour of all kinds of machines!<br /><br />Margaret Alice<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/2010-06-15-pitfalls/
