Caution. Tread lightly, for I am easily broken. <br />This bleeding heart of mine is more often left open. <br />Each time I get ready to heal another gash appears. <br />And there`s nothing left inside me now restraining back my tears. <br />You can`t fix me, dear, the endeavor is a lost cause. <br />I can never again be restored to anything close to what I was. <br />Lines we cross and vacant words we can`t seize back <br />Will lead us to the inevitable course of jumping off track. <br />I hate how aloneness consumes relentless sickly sweet. <br />It leaves me lying as motionless as putrid rotting meat. <br />How can I have a thing to offer outside this gaping space? <br />Too little too late are these promises designed to save face. <br />Breathing has become a struggle I`d rather just give in <br />To wither and waste away on the wings of oblivion.<br /><br />Brandi Guthrie<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/oblivion-32/
