I fell asleep to the voice of an angel last night
She brought comfort to my soul and made life a delight
Her syllables had been formed in heaven's blessed light
For it was from God's history that she did recite

Though we have known each other for a time that's so slight
It seems as if our friendship had been formed with foresight
I wish to have the pleasure to see her dressed in white
On that great day of the Lord, when we all shall unite

Dorothy is her name, anyone beholding her sight
Shall be caught up by her beauty and caring forthright
A lovelier lass could ever have God formed outright
Her brightness obscuring all the stars, moon and sunlight

(Dedicated to my chat friend Dori who brought me through some of the darkest moments in my life. One night she read to me for hours from the Books of Samuel and Kings until I fell asleep. She was such a comfort to me. Though we are separated by time and great distance and may never see each other during this lifetime she will always have a place in my heart.)

© 2011

<friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friendship friend friend>

Udiah (witness to Yah)

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/voice-of-an-angel-2/
