Once upon a time, <br />A time when the sun would shine. <br />There were two souls, <br />two souls with the same goal <br />the goal to love and be loved. <br /> <br />Two souls destined to be, <br />destined to be something to see. <br />clueless when they met <br />that their destiny was set. <br /> <br />Like right from a book <br />She stole his heart with a look <br />It was then that he knew <br />He knew that it was true <br />True that soul mates exist <br /> <br />From that day on <br />their love only grew <br />sadly though neither knew <br />neither knew that the other felt it too <br />feelings went unexpressed and unsaid <br />unsaid to those whose hearts bled. <br /> <br />Years passed and friendship sprouted <br />Best friends, and no one doubted. <br />A friendship to last the years <br />Each other there to wipe away the tears. <br /> <br />He went here, she went there <br />Because life isn't always fair. <br />He missed his chance, lost the stage <br />She met someone else, she got engaged <br /> <br />Still he was there <br />He was there because he cared <br />Nothing changed, he felt the same <br />the same as the day she came. <br /> <br />He was here through the bad <br />There through the sad. <br />There for the good, <br />there for the glad. <br /> <br />Sadly time would break this bond <br />The bond that was so strong <br />All great things must end <br />but his heart refuses to bend <br /> <br />Longing to be together <br />In it you'll be forever <br />No matter the distance or time <br />Forever and always you'll be mine <br /> <br />Hopefully i'm not wrong <br />So long but not goodbye <br />for we can never end <br />my long lost friend.<br /><br />Kevin Godfrey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/long-lost-friend-3/
