Why is it that we feel the need <br />To rewrite the story when it ends <br /> <br />Everyone we meet along the way <br />Will shape us, <br />Teach us, <br />We will learn when we can, <br />Still the lessons are always there <br />Whether we choose to pay attention or not <br /> <br />I think you dishonor yourself and your story <br />By trying to change what happened <br />And it all happened for a reason <br /> <br />Simple by the virtue of what you needed <br />This person in your life at that moment <br />Even though they are not meant to stay <br />Does not make it any less real <br />Or meaningful <br /> <br />So let’s not succumb to telling a story <br />As to why it didn’t work <br />Or placing the blame <br />It was never suppose to be forever <br />Just another person along the way <br />Helping you to become the person you are meant to be <br /> <br />So thank them and wish them well and be on your way!<br /><br />Linda Engwall<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/people-you-meet-along-the-way/
