Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
It’s God’s hand emerging from the parting clouds
Setting down a creation more valuable to me than poetry itself
It’s a superhuman being
One of talent and looks as striking as the sun
A girl who holds the world in the palm of her hands
As it spins and she is wholly affected
By the trials and tribulations of her friends and family
A view from space that I have since fallen in love with
Though it is sad to see the world through her eyes
And become enveloped in her sense of sorrow
Still the way she has changed me I wouldn’t trade for anything
No she doesn’t have superhuman strength
Or the ability to fly or see through walls
In fact she walks just as normal as you or I
But the difference in this little girl is astounding
She has seen and felt the pain
At a time when I wouldn’t have been able to take it
And yet she still believes in love
And believes in the good things in the world
Even when it is hardest for her
She still makes me believe the world is a beautiful place
Because if nothing else, at the very least
She has changed the way I see myself
And has given me the confidence I need
To do everything I’ve never had the courage to do before
She may not have only saved me
But she has also almost entirely fixed me
Something I never thought was possible
For this I know is true
Therefore my cute little angel
Must in fact be
Supergirl.

Christopher's Dead

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/supergirl-3/
