The wagon broke down; <br />rain falls quite hard on the plains <br />in Spain's wet season. <br /> <br />Fearful of the floods <br />coming through in a flash, had <br />to run for our lives <br /> <br />But not to worry <br />we're stronger than these storms, we'll <br />fix it all up good. <br /> <br />New day on new wheels <br />and we're movin' again; can't <br />sit still for too long. <br /> <br />Got miles to go yet <br />baby's due anytime now; <br />town ahead can help. <br /> <br />Baby Jane arrived <br />no problems so far; good lord <br />blessing us just fine. <br /> <br />Our trip ends today; <br />left our old life behind us <br />to find a new one. <br /> <br />Struggled something fierce <br />but we made it through; it's been <br />worth it after all. <br /> <br />Rich soils for planting; <br />plenty of time before fall <br />brings on first winter. <br /> <br />We are so grateful <br />we left when we did, rains were <br />better than the heat.<br /><br />Carolyn Brunelle<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/haiku-091-a-wagon-tale-in-haiku-stanzas/
