When you first walked into my life <br />the flowers around me bloomed <br />and the dark days and nights around me vanished <br />as though they were meant to be doomed <br /> <br />When I saw you first intently watching me <br />my heart rate went absurd <br />and after talking to you when I reached home <br />I just went on chirping like a bird <br /> <br />When you first held my hand <br />I felt a chill run down my spine <br />we looked so lovingly eye to eye <br />and I wished you'd say that you're all mine <br /> <br /> <br />When we first went out together <br />I felt like it was a journey in space <br />you taught me how to be strong <br />and be ahead in life's race <br /> <br />When we first saw a movie together <br />with our hand in hand <br />It was like a promise we made <br />that together we'll always stand <br /> <br />When you first gave me a that oh so tender kiss <br />It felt like satin against my cheek <br />you filled me with courage and confidence <br />and i no longer ever felt weak <br /> <br />When you first came in my dreams <br />and asked me If I loved you <br />you told me that you trusted me <br />and believed my love was true <br /> <br />When you first stopped by early morning to my home <br />only because you said you wanted to SEE me <br />I wish you'd had the courage that day <br />to tell me that you din't really love me <br /> <br />Now you've simply walked out of my life <br />just as spring came and went <br />you took along all my joys and smiles <br />as though they were only lent....<br /><br />Nitya Pillai<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/that-first-time/
