Life, or mine, is just like flowers, <br />Swaying in the autumn wInd. <br />I'm light and free and nonchalant <br />Towards angry weeds, who spring from sin. <br /> <br />Pedals lift a cool night's breeze, <br />The rush; the ride; a song bird melody. <br />Flower's live and live to thrive, <br />But now in comes the time for threnody. <br /> <br />Children laugh and spread a veil, <br />Of blushing red o'er green grass hills. <br />With every step a loved one dies, <br />A stem that snaps; a painful shrill. <br /> <br />One girl came along and unlike friends, <br />Bent down in her crimson dress. <br />She came not to kill, but to enjoy, <br />She was a gift, and I've been blessed. <br /> <br />But i have scars, my roots dig deep. <br />Knowing the human race I fear <br />That she will be like all the rest. <br />That she will bring up flower's tears. <br /> <br />So If you're out there, keep on smiling. <br />With out you i am unempowered <br />You've given hope, and i hope strong. <br />So please make my life just like flowers.<br /><br />Gabe Florsheim<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/just-like-flowers-2/
