I can go in war this very day <br />with those who are against hunger, <br />who are against death <br />and who take arms against the invaders. <br /> <br />The boars are now destroying all crops of life <br /> entering into the fields of civilization; <br />The jackals are devouring all corpses of our kith and kin <br /> digging the graves; <br />The vultures are singing the rotten withered song of democracy <br /> clutching the map of our heart; <br />Leaving my home for ever, I can go away with those <br />who are against these boars, <br />against these jackals and these vultures <br />and who draw irritated hands against their aggressive hands. <br />My heart cries now saying war war. <br />Saying war war, my heart bursts into anger <br />like an atom bomb. <br /> <br />Life is nothing but war, <br />and warlessness means mere death. <br />That is the most beautiful river, o Man, <br />whose course is serpentine.<br /><br />Sayeed Abubakar<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/war-is-life/
