Just what is a senior citizen one may ask? <br />If you have to ask, then you know you're young, <br />Let me explain just what I mean, <br />It's when your retire and finish your task <br /> <br />It is when you think you can continue to do, <br />The things you did when you were young, <br />Yet when you try your body cries, <br />The mind is killing us, both me and you. <br /> <br />Wrinkles appear where they were not before, <br />Your mirror talks back, in a frightening way, <br />Your teeth fall out and your chin drops down, <br />Your sex life once good, but not anymore <br /> <br />Your chest drops and your stomach falls, <br />The first page you read in the paper each day, <br />The obituary page, to see if you are there, <br />You want to say something, then your mind stalls, <br /> <br />Your money is limited, if you have any at all, <br />A nap is required, to make it through the day, <br />Your children are grown, and on their on, <br />You are now short, when you once were tall, <br /> <br />You once had muscles, but not anymore, <br />But life is good, or that's what they say, <br />Your friends are falling as fast as flies, <br />You walk with ease but fall to the floor. <br /> <br />Your mind is good, or so you think, <br />You remember things and then you don't, <br />You call your friends and then forget why, <br />Toothpaste is gone, just clean in the sink. <br /> <br />The Golden years, for hers and his, <br />Look forward to it, your time will come, <br />A time of joy, it is what they say, <br />It awaits you too, that's what a Senior is<br /><br />B.J.
